Changes in the Biochemical Properties of Diseased Tissue as Pathogenetic Factors in Dupuytren's Contracture

چکیده
Ideally, elastic material reacts immediately to any deforming force with a corresponding change of shape and reassumes the original shape as soon as the deforming force stops acting. In reality, however, an elastic material that behaves in this theoretical way does not exist. Especially in living tissues, deformation is always accompanied by a dislocation of internal structures, which occurs against a certain amount of friction and takes some time. Accommodation to a final shape takes place slowly and requires energy. From our preliminary studies, which examined the parameters listed below, we knew that the viscous fraction is low in NPA but significantly increased in tissues obtained from patients with D D . We were not interested in extreme values such as tensile strength, because these values may be influenced strongly by individual factors. We wanted to determine the changes in parameters as expressed in physiological values. We therefore selected strain levels of 2 .5%, 5%, 7 .5%, and 10%.

Generation of contractile force by cultured Dupuytren's disease and normal palmar fibroblasts.
Contractile fibroblasts are believed to be responsible for palmar fascia contracture in Dupuytren's Disease. An in vitro collagen lattice model was used to examine the contractile properties of Dupuytren's fibroblasts from 10 patients undergoing partial fasciectomy, and palmar fascia fibroblasts from 6 patients undergoing carpel tunnel release. Dupuytren's and palmar fascia fibroblasts cultured...
متن کاملThe effect of splinting after Dupuytren\'s contracture surgery: A Systematic Review
Objectives: Flexion contracture in fingers of hands is a complication of Dupuytren's contracture and cannot be stopped by the progressive course. The aim of this study was to review the effect of splinting in corrective of contracture after Dupuytren's contracture surgery. Methods: To carry out this research, a kind of systematic evidence-based review process (Duffy 2005) was used. For data...

AIM To analyse patterns of gene expression for peptide regulatory factors in patients with Dupuytren's contracture. METHODS Tissue samples (palmer fascia) from 12 patients with Dupuytren's contracture and 12 controls were studied using the reverse transcription/polymerase chain reaction (RT/PCR) technique. RESULTS Tissue from patients with Dupuytren's contracture expressed a higher percenta...
متن کاملThe cytoskeleton and extracellular matrix of the Dupuytren's disease "myofibroblast": an immunofluorescence study of a nonmuscle cell type.
The cytoskeleton and the extracellular matrix of myofibroblasts in nodules from Dupuytren's diseased palmar fascia were examined by indirect immunofluorescence. Primary antibodies used as probes of these tissue compartments were directed against (1) smooth muscle myosin, (2) nonmuscle myosin--components of the cytoplasmic contractile apparatus in smooth muscle and nonmuscle cells, respectively,...
متن کاملAreview of Dupuytren\'s contracture in 43 hands: assessment of the nature and result after fasciectomy
Abstract Background: Dupuytren's disease is a fibroproliferative disorder of the palmar fascia that can result in disabling contractures of the digits. When function is impeded or deformity is disabling, surgical intervention can be considered, wherein a major problem is recurrence ( reported up to 74%). Although, the disease occurs predominantly in men of northern European, there are ver...
